Warriors Find & Maintain Shooting Touch Throughout In Win Over Cougars

MANSON, Iowa - Alta-Aurelia was consistent defensively and rediscovered its shooting stroke putting an end to a three game losing streak, heading home with a 66-40 conference vitory against Manson-NW Webster in Manson.

The Warriors had shot 35 percent over their last two games against East Sac Cunty and Sioux Central. They flip the switch and came back to shoot 54 percent (26-of-48) from the floor against Manson-NW Webster.

The Warriors filled the statistical sheet with 10 different players scoring against the Cougars. Amazing things happen when you make shots and throw in rebounds and play unselfishly as a team. 

The Warriors staked themselves to a 17-4 lead following one quarter and lead at each of the remaining breaks as well. The host trailed Alta-Aurelia by 13 points (32-19) at halftime, and was down 20 points to the Warriors (47-27) at the end of three quarters. Alta-Aurelia pushes its road record back above .500 at 5-4, ending a two game road losing streak.

Topping the scoring chart was senior Anthony Krier with 16 points. He also dealt out a game and season-best 10 assists, finishig with a double-double for the first time this season. Diogo Sliefert came off the Warriors bench and found the rhythm on his shot going 4-of-5 from the floor - all beyond the 3-point line for 13 points. Logan McCoy finished with eight points and led Alta-Aurelia with seven rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot.

Carson Bower led Manson-NW Webster with a game-best 17 points, and Austin Anliker chipped in 10. 

Manson-NW Webster with the loss falls to 2-15 on the season.

Alta-Aurelia improves to 8-9 overall. The Warriors take to the road in their next game traveling to Emmetsburg on Tuesday.
