SPENCER, Iowa – Following Wednesday’s announcement that the Iowa State Fair will be cancelled this year due to COVID-19, many people are speculating whether or not the Clay County Fair will go on as scheduled in September. Clay County Fair General Manager Jeremy Parsons says as of right now, the fair is still on.
He says so far, COVID-19 has not affected the grandstand entertainment and concert schedule for the fair.
Parsons says the decision on whether or not to hold the Clay County Fair this year will depend on several factors.
Parsons says he expects to make a final decision on the 2020 Clay County Fair in mid or late July.
The Clay County Fair is “The World’s Greatest County Fair” by presenting blue-ribbon competition, world-class entertainment and innovative exhibits in a safe family atmosphere, while also providing year-round facilities for entertainment and events.
