Employee of Seaboard Triumph Foods Of Sioux City Dies From COVID-19

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — A 56-year old employee of Seaboard Triumph Foods pork plant in Sioux City has died of Covid-19. In a statement, on Saturday, May 2, Ahmad Mohaammad, President of the Islamic Center of Siouxland, confirmed Husain Jair from Eritrea, succumb to the COVID-19 disease.

"He was sick for about a week. He stayed home for 4-5 days and then he spent last two days of his life in Mercy One hospital in Sioux City," Mohammed wrote in a statement. 

As of Tuesday, April 28, Seaboard Triumph Foods reported 11 employees had tested positive for COVID-19. 

Jair's funeral was held Monday afternoon.
